This month’s theme: Blackberry Way

Blackberries (Amanda Read)
Pear Tree, Catcombe Mill (Amanda Read)

If you watched the Commonwealth Games’ closing ceremony, you may well have been struck by how many artists past and present hail from Birmingham. However, not every chart-topper made it into their roll-call. Here to make right the Games’ organisers’ omission, this month’s theme is inspired by The Move’s 1970 hit ‘Blackberry Way’.

You may want to send in your artistic shots of the fruit of the land, whether blackberries, apples, sloes or produce from the allotment. Then again, you may prefer the use the theme to explore paths, tracks, bridleways, etc.

Alternatively, you could harness the nostalgic spirit of Roy Wood’s lyrics.
