Community Speed Watch extended to Hillside
Residents have for many years been concerned about traffic speeds on Hillside.
Automatic monitoring in February using a MetroCount logger demonstrated that speeds exceeded the threshold for Speed Watch, and after approval of a suitable site, so the Community Speed Watch team has now been granted permission to start checking speeds on Hillside.
The first session took place on Tuesday 5th April at 3.30. The traffic level was reasonably low, with 245 cars logged in 1 hour 5 minutes.. Of these, 7 cars (2.9%) exceeded the reporting threshold of 46mph, with the fastest at 52mph.
With the additional site on Hillside, The Community Speed Watch team would like to increase the number of sessions it does. To do this, it would be a great help to get some more volunteers trained up., and if you would like to help with this, please contact Judith Bird on 218686
