This article will focus on providing some brief information on a building known as The Village Hall, Nettleton Road erected in about 1921/22 (the current site of the children’s play area, which was opened in 2018) The attached documents provide details of the village hall construction and the £75 cost, as well as correspondence between Walter Brook Rickards of The Rectory and the local council.
As mentioned in a previous article entitled ‘village fete’ this was the venue for village dancing and social activities. In later years the hut housed a pool table and was used as a changing room for the local football teams. According to local residents the village hall fell into disrepair and was eventually demolished in the mid 1980’s
