This year BCA is backing the village fete and stands to gain £300 or more from this one event.  This income is essential if we are to realise much of the Beautiful Burton project, which includes a WW1 memorial bench on the Triangle, and picket fences for the village entry points (those at Yatton Keynall cost £1,500).  Grants are available for such schemes, but will only be awarded if Burton demonstrates a level of commitment in the form of match funding.

The organisers are looking for volunteers as follows:

  • 1 x for tea and cake stall
  • 1 x for tombola
  • 1 x target (human) for sponge throwing
  • 1 x for as-new stall
  • 3 x additional stalls – ideas welcome (see attached to avoid duplication)

Volunteers should contact Annie Trubody (annie.trubody1@hotmail.co.uk).

Even if you aren’t available to take part on the day, you can still get involved. Yes, you can!  Items are needed for the tombola and as-new stall – we can pick up from you.  Still don’t think you can help?  How about making a donation towards the WW1 memorial bench?

Just a few hours of your time or a £10 donation could make a big difference to Burton.
