Road Chaos on Sat 10th May

Wiltshire Council have published the following:

Temporary Introduction of One-Way Traffic Restriction: C161 Nettleton (Ref: TTRO 3435)

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made an Order to temporarily introduce a One-Way Traffic Restriction on the following road in the specified direction:

C161 Nettleton; from its junction with Marshfield Road to its junction with B4039 The Street Burton.

Direction of permitted travel from Marshfield Road in an eastbound direction towards Burton.

To enable: Traffic management measures to be implemented to ensure safety of participants and spectators for ‘Japfest’ automobile event.

The one way restriction will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.

This Order will come into force on Saturday 10th May 2014 and will be in operation between the hours of 05:30 – 12:00pm.

So, if I could find road C161 on a map, I could tell you for certain that you won’t be able to drive up Nettleton Road from Burton, but it sounds like it. Maybe someone can help me with that. In the meantime I can only suggest you try Edgecorner Lane and West Kington if you need to go that way.

Because it’s Japfest, going to Chippenham past Castle Combe is likely to be a bit trying. Just to add to the fun, It’s Badminton that Sautrday as well, so driving through Acton Turville to Yate could also have its problems. So go down to the supermarket during the weekdays before and stock up, and plan to do gardening or go down the OH@H on the Saturday, because it’s likely to be a bad Idea to go out.

Also, is 12.00pm midday or midnight?   pm stands for post meridian. In the good old days before Bill Gates, 12.00 was either 12.00 noon or 12.00 midnight. It was only times before or after 12.00 which could be am or pm. Still, Melinda is making sure the lolly Bill makes from us goes to a good cause – more that Steve Jobs of Apple did.
