Two of the more interesting literary prizes have announced their longlists for this year: the Women’s Prize for Fiction and the Man Booker International Prize.

The Sentence ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (2021) Louise Erdrich. Longlisted for Women’s prize for fiction. Profound ghost story set against a background of the Black Lives Matter movement and the pandemic. Literary fiction.
The Ten Thousand Doors of January ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (2019) Alix E. Harrow. Armed only with a most unusual book, January Scaller embarks on a quest to find out what happened to her parents. Fantasy fiction.
